Vic Verlinden

Vic Verlinden dives since 1975 and is a professional explorer. He specializes in taking pictures on deep wrecks. He is the author of 5 diving books. His latest book “ Lusitania- the underwater collection” has just been published. As an underwater photographer, his images have been published in all major diving magazines around the world. He was also a guest speaker at the major diving events. For the book on the Lusitania it took 5 diving expeditions (6 years) to take the images at a depth of 92 meters.  It is the first time the wreck of the Lusitania has been extensively photographed and a book is published with unseen underwater pictures from this historical wreck .

Title of the presentation: “Lusitania – the underwater collection”.

6 years ago, the Lusitania project 17 was started by Peter McCamley. The intention was to document the wreck with film footage and photographs. Meanwhile, I have participated in five expeditions and made 25 dives on the wreck at a depth of 92 meter. The passenger ship Lusitania is one of the most iconic wrecks in the world and has now been extensively photographed with digital cameras. The Lusitania was torpedoed in 1915 and that was the reason America became involved in world war one. I also made a book about the wreck.
