19 New Wrecks Open to Divers

Back

We did it! After approximately 14 months of discussions, lobbying and consistent efforts by Baltictech, the list of wrecks officially open to diving in the Polish Baltic Sea has been expanded by 19 additional sites.

This is an important step towards making Baltic wrecks more accessible and a tangible result of cooperation between the diving community and public authorities. The strong support of Senator Kazimierz Kleina, who has been actively involved in discussions on changing the existing regulations, played an important role in this process.

The newly expanded list includes the JU 88 aircraft wreck, located only about one kilometre from Hel, as well as the T5 and T3 torpedo boats and the wreck of the Bremerhaven.

For Baltictech, this is one of the most important results of our efforts to liberalise wreck diving regulations. It also proves that consistent dialogue and the active involvement of the diving community can lead to real change.

19 new wrecks are a great start. We keep pushing forward!
