The weather outside didn’t inspire for wreck diving because it was cold and dark. So, we wanted to see if others have it worse and decided to go to Sweden, specifically to the #vrakdykarpensionatet base near Stockholm. The connection from Poland is ideal, first by ferry, and then only 40 minutes to #Dalarö, where a real wreck diving paradise is located. On-site, we were welcomed by Emmy Ahlén and Björn Lindoff, who run a charming guesthouse, and you feel like you’re staying at their home, which is a big plus. Within 10 minutes by rib, there are dozens of wrecks, many of them historical, and most importantly, they are untouched and look as if they sank yesterday. Most of the wrecks are in places surrounded by islands, so diving is weather-independent, which is probably the biggest advantage of this place. We recommend this base. Emmy talked about the wrecks with such enthusiasm that we couldn’t wait to get underwater (by the way, we invited her to the Baltictech 2024 conference in Gdynia, so you’ll be able to listen to her live).
Finally, there had to be a visit to the Vasa Museum, which is only 45 minutes from Dalarö and which every diver should visit.
