We set out once again to Malta to participate in the Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit project, aimed at identifying, studying, and documenting wrecks. Despite poor weather at the start of our trip, we managed to dive on the island of Gozo, exploring the wrecks of Karawela and Cominoland, and spent three days diving on the wreck of ORP Kujawiak. During the dives, we carried out tasks for the Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit, which is currently focused on studying and documenting wrecks from World War I and II.
We also had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Timmy Gambin about the American B24 aircraft, resting at a depth of 55 meters. Its inventory and search for a missing crew member have been ongoing for several years.
Participating in such a project is an honor and a real pleasure for us as divers. It was great to meet old friends and make new ones who share our passion for wreck diving.
We want to thank the entire UCHU team for the invitation, hospitality, perfect preparation, professionalism, and the unique atmosphere of the whole project.
