Nasze Sygnały: Route of Death lecture

Back

Discover the remarkable story of one of the largest maritime evacuations in world history, as described in the book "The Death Road" by Tomasz Stachura.

Operation Hannibal was not only an immense logistical undertaking but also a profound symbol of human tragedy and heroism in the face of war.

During the lecture, Tomasz Stachura will delve into the fates of shipwrecks such as the Wilhelm Gustloff, Goya, Steuben, and many others, which have forever etched themselves into the pages of history as tragic symbols of this operation. These wrecks, now resting on the floor of the Baltic Sea, still hold the stories of thousands of people—their dreams, hopes, and dramatic experiences.
