Wooden Sailing Ship with Cargo from the Late 19th Century

Back

We had known about this wreck for many years. It’s said to be a well-preserved wooden ship with many curiosities on board. Ten years ago, classical divers from the Polish Navy dove on it and even made a film with an ROV. The long distance from shore and great depth (82m), and especially the presence of a drilling platform nearby, made organizing the dive difficult. Finally, on October 24, 2023, taking advantage of a weather window and in the presence of a representative from the Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, we set off on a long journey to check the rumors. The weather was on our side, the operator of the Petrobaltic drilling tower gave permission to operate practically right at the spot, and we could dive. At the bottom, it turned out to be a well-preserved wooden ship probably from the late 19th century, but without spectacular artifacts. See for yourselves - photogrammetry.
